Clinton County Courthouse Offices continue to be open to the public during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the public are strongly encouraged to contact the specific department they have business with via phone or email, prior to arriving, to determine if they can use Clinton County on-line services (completing applications, payment of fees, applying for permits, etc.) to complete their business or if their matter requires in-person assistance.
We ask the public to follow these safety procedures –

- If you have traveled internationally or taken a cruise
Due to the most recent Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) Gatherings and Face Mask Order, Clinton County is attempting to limit the amount of in-person services to reduce traffic in the Courthouse building by encouraging the public to use the County’s on-line services. Please contact the specific departments via telephone or email for any questions/comments regarding in-person and on-line services (Please See Departments Contacts and On-Line Services Links Below).
Additionally, the following safety measures continue to be required for in-person business at the Clinton County Courthouse:
Health Screening – Security personnel will administer verbal health screening of all visitors, including taking your temperature. Security will inquire into what department(s) the individual intends to do business with as there will be a limit of how many visitors are allowed in the building at any given time. Please limit the number of individuals to ONLY those necessary to accomplish the matter at hand.
Face Masks – Visitors must be wearing a face mask to enter the facility. If one is unavailable, a disposable face mask will be provided. Limited exceptions may be allowed for individuals entering the court per Judge’s discretion.
Designated Entrances – To facilitate social distancing, the south entrance of the Courthouse is designated for public use only. The south stairwell is designated as down only and the north stairwell is designated as up only.
Social Distancing – Visitors who can conduct business via a department’s front window/counter must maintain six (6) feet of distance from others at all times. Marks separating visitors by six (6) feet are placed on the floor in front of all county department reception areas.
Enhanced Hygiene – Hand sanitizer stations are located throughout the building and signs are posted regarding proper hand washing methods. Handshaking is also prohibited to ensure good hand hygiene.
