Mid-Michigan residents, businesses, governments, public institutions and non-profit organizations all have one thing in common, they all produce waste. What is uncommon about this common activity, however, are the extraordinary measures some have taken to reduce the amount of waste they generate and dispose of into landfills. To recognize and support these exemplary behaviors in Mid-Michigan, local recycling coordinators have established this regional award.

Those eligible include:

              Businesses (Any Size)
              Non-Profit Organizations/Churches
              Education Institutions
                           (College, University, Public/Private/Charter School)
              Government Agencies (Office or Department)

Applicants will be evaluated on the following criteria:

Efforts to reduce, reuse, and recycle
Efforts to educate about recycling and waste reduction issues
Efforts to purchase materials made from recycled content
