Clinton Conservation District
The Clinton County Conservation District has been serving the interests
of the citizens by providing leadership and technical assistance
in the conservation of our soil and water resources. The political
support to create a Conservation District came from Landowners who
needed assistance in planning and installing conservation and land
improvement practices (such as tile drainage) in order to make Clinton
County one of the top agricultural counties in the state.
Today the District is still working with the agricultural community
to control erosion and protect water quality while assisting the
urban and suburban landowners with making wise and productive land
use decisions on smaller tracts of land. In addition to working
with landowners the District coordinates their activities with MSU
Extension, the Health Department and the Drain Commission in regard
to the protection of public health, soil and water resources and
to provide an effective and efficient public information and education
program.
