4-H Youth Development
welcomes new and returning
members across state
County Extension offices across
Michigan are
putting out the welcome mat for 4-H members and
volunteers during the traditional 4-H fall
enrollment period. Many
counties are hosting open houses and other events
to invite both new and returning youth members and
volunteers to join 4-H clubs or participate in
4-H-sponsored activities.
“4-H truly has
something for everyone,” says Cheri Booth, 4-H State
Leader.
“Whether a youth—or a volunteer—is
interested in livestock, gardening, cooking,
rocketry, Web design, photography or
entrepreneurship, there is a 4-H program that will
allow him or her to explore that interest.”
To
learn more about 4-H and to find a club in your
community, call, e-mail or visit your county Extension
office (click

Learn about state ballot
issues from MSU Extension
Bulletin
This November,
Michigan voters
will head to the polls to decide the fate of five
statewide ballot proposals. To assist them in
understanding the proposals, MSU Extension has
published a bulletin describing the proposals and
giving the official language, the background and a
policy discussion, including the differing
viewpoints on each issue. The 2006 Statewide
Ballot Proposal bulletin provides background
information, the status and content of each
proposal, along with the names of the groups that
support it. Click here to read the
bulletin.
