Circuit
Court Probation serves the Circuit Court by preparing pre-sentence
investigation reports and other Court ordered reports/investigations.
When offenders are sentenced to Probation, probation staff supervises
the offender(s) compliance with their respective orders of probation,
which include statutory conditions such as reporting as required,
but may include other conditions as ordered by the Court.
The Circuit Court Probation office acts as liaison of the Department
of Corrections to Circuit Court, District Court, County Jail, Sheriff's
Department, other County agencies, law enforcement, local government,
service agencies, and the general public in any situation(s) involving
adult felony offenders. Staff persons are paid by the State of Michigan,
with all office expenses being provided by the County.
