Emergency Services falls under the Sheriff's Department and is staffed by a Coordinator who oversees the emergency and disaster planning and response of 11 section representatives within Clinton County. The Coordinator provides training programs to all 11 agencies, and is responsible for the direction and control of all 11 agencies in actual disaster situations. The 50% match in funding for this program originates with the Federal Emergency Management Agency and is administered by the Michigan State Police.

Continuing services and activities include severe weather safety presentations to private and public organizations and in-service training at schools and health care facilities. Participation on the Capital Region Airport Authority Emergency Plan Advisory Committee is a priority. Recent initiatives include maintaining emergency support plans for Dewitt Township as required by section 19 of Public Act 390, 1976, and coordinating the Clinton County Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC).
