CLINTON COUNTY 9-1-1 CENTRAL DISPATCH - First to respond, first on scene, first to assist

Central Dispatch links the citizens of Clinton County, neighboring communities, and associated public safety agencies with efficient, reliable, responsive, and professional public safety communication services. The primary function of Central Dispatch is to handle emergency and non-emergency requests for police, fire, and medical service and to determine the dispatch needed and to dispatch the appropriate personnel to the requested location.

At the special election of May, 3, 2011, Clinton County voters approved increasing the monthly 9-1-1 surcharge from $2.00 for any device capable of accessing 9-1-1 up to $2.25 for any device capable of accessing 9-1-1. This increase in surcharge began on July 1, 2011, and will end on June 30, 2017. The 25-cent increase is earmarked for improvements in coverage on our countywide, public safety communications system. Central Dispatch thanks the voters for their approval.

Kindergarten 9-1-1 education programs continue to be a huge success. In addition to teaching children how and when to dial 9-1-1, Central Dispatch provides the students with a reminder of their training in the form of a 9-1-1 activity book and a practice phone to practice calling 9-1-1.

Tours of Central Dispatch's 9-1-1 Operations Center are provided to numerous civic groups, scouts, students, and individuals of Clinton County.

Clinton County Central Dispatch/9-1-1 relies on emergency notification technology from PlantCML®, among other means, to keep you alert and ultimately, ensure your safety. In doing so, we must have precise information for reaching you. As more people transition from landline to cell, wireless and VoIP telephone service, the availability and accuracy of local 9-1-1 or commercial phone data has diminished. In order to maintain the most up-to-date information, Clinton County Central Dispatch/9-1-1 has implemented PlantCML’s Self-Registration Portal to capture data for alternate devices, such as cell phone and e-mail.
